2005 Clinics

We provide top-quality instruction to riders with an emphasis on basic skill development, safety, practice, and progression.

Our clinics are taught in four consecutive weekend sessions of 3 hours each. We start with the most fundamental skills and build from there. You will learn:

  • Bike anatomy & fit
  • Balance on the bike
  • How to safely stop & dismount
  • Effective braking
  • How to steer
  • How to shift the gears
  • Intro to easy hill climbing & descending
  • How to fix a flat tire
  • Basic bike care & maintenance
  • Intro to negotiating trail obstacles
  • Intermediate hill climbing & descents
  • Intermediate obstacle work
  • Riding singletrack trails
What does mountain biking mean to us?

It means aspiration that inspires achievement.
It means challenges that produce confidence.
It means the line between strength of body
and strength of character becomes blurred.

But most of all it means joy.

Joy at the mastery of new skills.
Joy in the discovery of hidden strengths.
Joy in the victory over personal limits.
And a profound joy we are gifted with
when we are pedaling through the wind,
onto the dirt, over the terrain,
and into the magic of mother earth.

The focus is on fun, safety, and learning at your own pace. There are breaks with snacks and water at which time we talk about what we are learning, assess your progress and answer your questions.

Between each weekly clinic there is time for you to practice your new skills so you'll be even more prepared for the next week's session.
